Land Listening: An Active Imagination Hike
Spend the morning participating in a sacred hiking ritual that connects you with both the land beneath your feet and your own body. In this outdoor workshop, we will journey into the Galisteo Basin to listen deeply to the land. We will engage in the depth psychological practice of active imagination—creative dialogues with unconscious material—deep listening, resting on the Earth, and playful exploration to help us remember who we are through forming a conscious relationship with our immediate environment.
This workshop offers a perfect opportunity to disconnect from limiting beliefs and detox from societal concerns and expectations. We will create a space to follow our intuitive wisdom and reconnect with our presence in nature as a restorative practice.
Be prepared to sit on the ground, literally connect with the earth beneath you, and remember that the land upon which you walk and rest is no different than your body.

During her varied career, Dr. Lisa Pounders has enjoyed exploring multiple paths, often at the same time. After completing a BA in Computer Science, Lisa worked in the computer industry as a programmer, technical writer, and project manager. Complementing this work, she also honed skills as a fine art painter and poet, and eventually earned a master’s degree in Humanities. Over the last decade, Lisa completed a PhD in Depth Psychology and has worked as an instructor, researcher, mentor, developmental editor, program manager, and consultant. A thread that weaves through her diverse background is how she brings deep curiosity and active creativity to everything she does.
One of the things that Lisa values most in this world is her connection to nature. She is an avid hiker and outdoors advocate who currently meanders around the southwest exploring trails, visiting ancestral ruins, and camping in remote beautiful places.
