Sing the glory of the Goddess with us in the Summer Shakti Women’s retreat! Join Tanya, Indu and Chanti in a women’s getaway weekend this August for sangha, sharing and learning about our Essential Nature. Women are embodiments of Goddess as “Shakti.” We will explore the mantra, the story, and symbolic meaning of Goddess Durga, and how it relates to Yoga from the text Devi Mahatmayam.

Paint the Durga Yantra: The construction of the Durga yantra which will take us deeper into the feeling of ritual, meditation and devotion mirroring the stories of the Devimahatmyam. During the creation of the yantra the main mantra of this sacred text will be chanted continuously, focusing the mind to be one-pointed on the goddess herself. When it is complete we will learn to use the yantra as a tool for meditation.

Practice and Study: We will practice daily in the sisterhood of sharing and sangha. Come ready to practice, listen, take in and receive these heart-felt and timely teachings. Leave with your cup full of ICCHA SHAKTI – willpower, JNANA SHAKTI – knowledge and KRIYA SHAKTI – discernment in thought, speech and action.
