TRANSLATE THE FEELING: Fall Feelings Club

Our feelings play a very important part in directing all of our thoughts and actions. In us, there is a river of feelings, in which every drop of water is a different feeling, and each feeling relies on all the others for its existence.
— Thich Nhat Hanh

Embark on an 8-week journey that combines the practices of creativity, yoga nidra, and intuitive movement to translate feelings.

The Fall Feelings Club aims to explore the translation of feelings through a creative, restful, and somatic process. Often, a feeling has a stereotypical or cultural image and can quickly be repressed, ignored, and forgotten. That said, as many of us have experienced, that feeling eventually makes its way to the surface over time. This fall, we will create a space for emotions to be expressed, honored, and integrated to redefine what they mean and what they may be sharing.

Fall is a great time to be seasonally supported, and like emotions, it welcomes change. The leaves turn color and descend to cover the ground, birds migrate to warmer climates, the air cools, and the sun sets a little earlier. Like emotions and feelings, fall is a time of transition, preparation, and purification.

Each gathering will include meditation, discussion on the week’s theme and explorative art practices + exercises. We will end each week with time for community shares and rest. Participants will also receive audio recordings or video tutorials through the week.

Our feelings are not there to be cast out or conquered. They’re there to be engaged and expressed with imagination and intelligence.
— T.K. Coleman

Emotion arises at the place where mind and body meet. It is the body’s reaction to your mind — or you might say, a reflection of your mind in the body.
